1, poly (methyl methacrylate) containing a polar side group, has obvious hygroscopic, water absorption of 0.3% -0.4% in general, must be dried prior to molding, drying condition is 80 ℃ -85 ℃ dried 4-5h .
2, polymethyl methacrylate having effective obvious non-Newtonian fluid characteristics in a molding processing temperature range, the melt viscosity increases with the shear rate will be significantly decreased, the melt viscosity is also very sensitive to temperature. Thus, for polymethyl methacrylate molding process, the molding pressure and temperature can increase significantly lower melt viscosity, to achieve better flowability.
3, PMMA begins to flow temperature of about 160 ℃, the decomposition start temperature of higher than 270 ℃, has a wide working temperature range.
4, Poly methyl methacrylate higher melt viscosity, cooling rate and faster products prone to stress, so the control process conditions demanding during molding, after molding products also require post-treatment.
5, polymethyl methacrylate is an amorphous polymer, the shrinkage and range are small, typically from about 0.5% to 0.8%, in favor of a higher dimensional accuracy of the molded plastic parts.
6, polymethyl methacrylate cutting performance is very good, its profile can be easily machined to dimensions of the various requirements.
Processing
PMMA can be used casting, injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming and other processes.
